• Meta’s taking its battle against TikTok to the next stage with the full launch of Reels on Facebook, and it’s going to have all the bells and whistles of Reels on Instagram. I have to say, though, that I really do not like reels as much as tiktok. And I don’t like logging into instagram and seeing reel after reel. I still like seeing a sort of simple feed of images. Call me old fashioned I guess.

• Reddit is in the process of rolling out some new image editing tools which will let you customize your visual uploads before you post.

• If you set daily time limits for yourself on Instagram be aware that they are discontinuing some app time limit options and encouraging you to update your settings.. Originally, you were able to select a time limit as low as five minutes a day, while the new options begin at 30 minutes and go up to three hours.

• Twitter added a new option to pin DM chats, with the capacity to pin up to six chats at once to the top of your inbox.

• LinkedIn has added two new elements to its Services Pages, which enable freelancers and SMBs to list the services that they provide on their LinkedIn profiles, and be found for the same in search results.

• Snapchat is finally releasing one of its most requested updates – the capacity to change your username in the app, without any impact on your friends' list, Snap code, Snap score, Memories, etc. As of February 23rd, all Snapchatters, on iOS and Android, will be able to update their username, which will be welcome news for many.

• Twitter is taking the next step in adding more transparency to the tweet process by rolling out its new bot labels, which developers will now be able to voluntarily add to automated accounts.

• Apple’s ATT update, which now prompts users of iOS apps to opt in or out of data tracking, has caused major disruption in the digital ad space, with Meta alone estimating that the change will cost it some $10 billion this year. And now, we could be set for the next stage of that shift, with Google announcing that it’s actively developing its Privacy Sandbox for Android, which is its equivalent data privacy control for Android users.
