• Instagram has announced that it will soon shut down its separate IGTV app, while it’s also removing its in-stream video ads option. And they are going to replace this with sticker ads for Reels and other options.

• TikTok has confirmed that all users will soon be able to upload 10 minute long videos in the app, a significant expansion on its current time limits.

• Meta’s taking its battle against TikTok to the next stage with the full launch of Reels on Facebook, and it’s going to have all the bells and whistles of Reels on Instagram. I have to say, though, that I really do not like reels as much as tiktok. And I don’t like logging into instagram and seeing reel after reel. I still like seeing a sort of simple feed of images. Call me old fashioned I guess.

• Reddit is in the process of rolling out some new image editing tools which will let you customize your visual uploads before you post.
